Series Architecture on Hybrid Electric Vehicles: A Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
The use of series architecture nowadays is mainly on hybrid buses. In comparison with series-parallel and parallel architectures, which are usually exploited medium-size cars, the allows achieving internal combustion engine higher efficiency. downside this architecture, due to a double energy conversion (i.e., mechanical converted in electrical again energy), that additional losses introduced. For reason, series/parallel architectures were considered more suitable for cars. Nevertheless, new technologies can change scenario. Regarding storage systems, supercapacitors achieved significant density, they guarantee much efficiency than battery storage. Moreover, wide-bandgap components power electronic converters, such as silicon carbide devices, assure lower losses. scenario, become competitive This paper shows review various studies performed topic.

Research on Control Strategy of Series Hybrid Electric Vehicles
The paper presents the analysis of two basic control strategies, the series thermostat control strategy and the series power follower control strategy, used for series hybrid electric vehicles. One of these control strategies, the series thermostat control strategy, is programmed and installed in an electronic control unit to manage the power flow of a two-seat series hybrid electric vehicle de...
متن کاملLeast costly energy management for series hybrid electric vehicles
Energy management of plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (HEVs) has different challenges from non-plug-in HEVs, due to bigger batteries and grid recharging. Instead of tackling it to pursue energetic efficiency, an approach minimizing the driving cost incurred by the user – the combined costs of fuel, grid energy and battery degradation – is here proposed. A real-time approximation of the resultin...
متن کاملHybrid Electric Vehicles
Hybrid Electric Vehicles HIGHLIGHTS PROCESS AND TECHNOLOGY STATUS – A hybrid electrical vehicle (HEV) is a vehicle equipped with either an internal combustion engine (ICE) and an electrical motor powered by electrical batteries. In 1997, Toyota sold in Japan the first modern hybrid electric car, the Toyota Prius. Today’s HEVs are an emerging technology in the automotive market, with manufacture...
متن کاملHybrid Electric Vehicles: Consumer Misperceptions
Many efforts have been made to reduce emissions into the atmosphere in the past 25 years, however the number of cars on the road and the average number of miles driven has been steadily increasing. Vehicle exhaust accounts for almost half of the ozone forming emissions produced in California. A mass switch-over to HEVs would reduce emissions into the atmosphere and reduce US dependence on forei...
متن کاملSimulation of Hybrid Electric Vehicles
In this work the fuel consumption of two vehicles is compared. For investigating the fuel consumption a whole vehicle simulation is developed with the SmartPowerTrains library and the SmartElectricDrives library. Both librarys are written in Modelica language. As a reference vehicle a conventional vehicle with manual transmission is modeled. A parallel hybrid electric vehicle with a starter/gen...
